Executive Bio
Shivawn Brady is an executive leader, community advocate, and strategist dedicated to building organizations that create meaningful impact. With more than two decades of experience spanning nonprofit leadership, public policy, environmental stewardship, regulatory affairs, and organizational development, she has built a career around helping mission-driven organizations grow, innovate, and serve their communities more effectively.
Currently serving as Director of Donor & Community Engagement for the Boys & Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe, Shivawn leads philanthropic strategy, community partnerships, and stakeholder engagement efforts that support more than 1,600 youth annually. Her work focuses on strengthening access to childcare, education, outdoor recreation, leadership development, and opportunities for working families throughout the North Lake Tahoe region.
Prior to her nonprofit leadership work, Shivawn held executive leadership positions with Justice Cannabis Company, where she helped guide the organization from startup to a multi-state enterprise operating across eleven states. During her tenure, she led regulatory affairs, operations, licensing, government relations, and strategic growth initiatives, helping secure more than twenty-two competitive licenses in highly regulated markets across the United States.
A lifelong advocate for public service and environmental stewardship, Shivawn has served on numerous advisory boards and community organizations, including the Sonoma Clean Power Advisory Committee, the Sonoma County Cannabis Advisory Committee, the Sonoma County Hemp Advisory Committee, and the Conservation Action Fund for Education Board of Directors. Earlier in her career, she worked as a research assistant with Stanford University's ReNUWit Program and as a naturalist and environmental educator with Sonoma County Regional Parks.
Known for her collaborative leadership style, Shivawn is passionate about developing people, building high-performing teams, and creating cultures where accountability, innovation, and compassion coexist. Colleagues frequently describe her as a thoughtful leader who combines strategic vision with operational discipline and an unwavering commitment to doing what is right. Her work has been recognized nationally, including being named a Marijuana Venture 40 Under 40 Rising Star. Across every chapter of her career, she has remained guided by a simple belief: strong communities are built when people are empowered to lead, contribute, and thrive.
When she is not working, Shivawn can often be found exploring trails with her son, supporting local nonprofits, enjoying the mountains and lakes of Northern California, or bringing people together around causes that strengthen community and create opportunity for future generations.A lifelong learner, Shivawn pursued a BS in Business Management from Colorado State University.
